We would like to congratulate Nobel laureate Carl Wieman, distinguished professor of physics at the University of Boulder at Colorado, who was elected to be a member of the prestigious US National Academy of Education for his pioneering efforts in educational research. An outstanding instructor, he was awarded the Oersted Medal, which recognizes notable contributions to the teaching of physics, by the American Association of Physics Teachers. His latest book, Collected Papers of Carl Wieman, was published by World Scientific in January 2008.
