D. T. Lee Named as the Next President ofNational Chung Hsing University
Der-Tsai Lee, Editor-in-Chief of the World Scientific publication International Journal of Computational Geometry and Applications, will become the 14th President of National Chung Hsing University on August 1st, 2011. Lee, a computer scientist known for his work in computational geometry, holds faculty positions at National Taiwan University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Chiao Tung University. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and the ACM, and was elected as the Academician of Academia Sinica, Taiwan in 2004. He also won the Humboldt Research Award in 2007.
2011 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award Finalist
World Scientific would like to congratulate Leonid Azaroff, author of Physics Over Easy: Breakfasts with Beth and Physics 2nd Edition, for being named a finalist in the Science category of the 2011 Benjamin Franklin Awards. The award, which includes 56 categories recognizing excellence in both editorial and design, is administered by the Independent Book Publishers Association and is regarded as one of the highest national honors in small and independent publishing.
World Scientific Authors Receive National University of Singapore Outstanding Awards
World Scientific authors, Professors Jagadese J. Vittal (Crystal Engineering: A Textbook) and Koh Khee Meng (Principles and Techniques in Combinatorics, Counting, Introduction to Graph Theory: H3 Mathematics, and Chromatic Polynomials and Chromaticity of Graphs), have been awarded the Outstanding Researcher Award and Outstanding Educator Awards 2011 respectively by the National University of Singapore (NUS).
The Outstanding Researcher Award recognizes researchers for their influential impact in advancing the frontiers of knowledge, and in positioning NUS at the forefront of their areas of expertise while the Outstanding Educator Award recognizes the lecturers for their impactful impartation of knowledge to their students.

Congratulations to our author Professor Michael Stumpf (Statistical and Evolutionary Analysis of Biological Networks) who has received the Rector’s Medal for Excellence in Research Supervision at Imperial College London. The Rector’s Awards for Excellence in Research Supervision recognize staff who have made exceptional contributions in providing a supportive learning environment for postgraduate research students. It was rewarded to Professor Stumpf for his outstanding commitment to training and mentoring students.
