Special Feature on New Journals
This year sees the launch of nine new World Scientific journals.
The salient features of two major journals are presented here.

International Journal of Nanoscience

Nanotechnology is a new branch of science that may bring about a new industrial revolution. By changing the atoms and molecules that make up matter, nanotechnology is opening up a new world of applications. With the advent of nanotechnology and nanoscience, World Scientific is proud to be launching a journal devoted to this new field.

International Journal of Nanoscience (IJN) is an interdisciplinary journal that covers mainly physics, materials science and engineering. Published six times a year, IJN features nanometer scale science and technology including the research areas of nanotubes, nanoelectronics, nanomechanics, nanobiology, nanoscale instrumentation and nano-optics.

In this inaugural issue, we feature some papers by well-known researchers: “Inorganic semiconductor nanowires,” P. Yang, University of California, Berkeley, USA, and “Nanobelts of semiconductive oxides: Structurally and morphologically controlled nanomaterials system,” Z. L. Wang, Z. Pan and Z. Dai, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.

The American Journal of Chinese Medicine
An International Journal of Comparative Medicine East and West

n 1993, the first edition of A Brief History of Chinese Medicine and Its Influence by P. Y. Ho (The Needham Research Institute) and F. P. Lisowski (University of Tasmania) was published, marking the beginning of a notable list of titles on alternative medicine.

This year, we are pleased to announce the launch of Vol. 30 of The American Journal of Chinese Medicine (AJCM). The Editorin- Chief, Dr John J. Kao, who is based in California, made the decision last year to jointly publish the journal with our company. Founded 30 years ago by the late Dr Frederick F. Kao, AJCM boasts an illustrious editorial board, a member of which was the late Professor Joseph Needham, a renowned expert on Chinese scientific philosophy.

AJCM presents articles and essays on traditional or ethnomedicine of all cultures. Published on a quarterly basis, it is cited in Biological Abstracts, Current Contents/Clinical Practice, Index Medicus and Science Citation Index (SCI).
